DIY Spa! At home spa tips – from head to toe(s).

How about making your home a "spa"? That's right, a spa. Take a day to take care of you, your skin, hair, and feet. To get you in a spa mood, light up some candles, put on your favorite relaxing music, take a hot bath, and get all your ingredients handy to pamper yourself.

Healthy hair

Wash your hair thoroughly with a deep cleaning shampoo. After washing your hair, apply a hair mask with rapid movements from your root to your ends, allowing the product to act for 5 minutes. Rinse, condition and finish the treatment using a treatment oil from the same line of product to treat split ends. If you do this treatment at least once a week, your hair will be hydrated and shiny.  Tip: Invest in a brand that will give you good results. If you choose the cheapest option, you might not get optimal results. Even if you invest in a more expensive brand, you will still pay less than a professional treatment.

DIY: An avocado-based hair mask is a highly effective remedy to control frizzy hair. The high amount of vitamin E in the avocado helps tame the frizz. Apart from the fantastic hydrating benefit, avocado also has the right kind of fatty acids that help soothe frizzy and unruly hair.

Recipe: Mash one ripe avocado, add little olive oil and mix it well. Shampoo your hair and then apply the mixture throughout your hair. Let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour, and then rinse it out with cold water. You can then condition your hair to get rid of the avocado scent. Use this as a hair mask once or twice every week to prevent dryness and condition your hair.

Picture-Perfect Skin

A beautiful, smooth, unblemished skin is what we all want, isn't it?

A good exfoliation will remove impurities and dead skin cells. Many dermatologists support home-made and 100% natural exfoliation. We have two recipes:

Oat and Chamomile Exfoliation

Ingredients:

½ cup oats (processed)

One teaspoon of baking soda

One tablespoon of honey

Two tablespoons white sugar (optional)

¼ cup Chamomile tea

Chamomile contains many anti-inflammatory properties that will help soothe your skin. Oatmeal contains salicylic acid, which will help with the exfoliation process. Make a paste with these ingredients and apply on the face, letting act for 15 minutes. Afterward, remove it with cold water.

Honey and Sugar Exfoliation

An easy homemade recipe is mixing of honey with sugar. Sugar helps remove dead skin cells, while honey acts to clean your pores. For this recipe, mix a tablespoon of honey with a tablespoon of sugar.

Dampen your fingers, and apply the exfoliant to your face. Gently massage in circles for 45 seconds. Leave the scrub on for around 10 minutes and remove with cold water.

Hydrated Feet

The oat flakes and chamomile tea exfoliation is also great for treating your feet to reduce roughness in your heel area.

Exfoliation for dry feet

An exfoliant with rice, honey, and vinegar will help remove dead skin cells and moisturize your feet. You should limit this treatment for not more than twice a week, as over-exfoliating your feet can cause the dryness to worsen.

This homemade scrub is perfect to use after a hot bath.

Ingredients

1 handful of raw rice beaten in the blender;

1 tablespoon of honey;

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar;

1 tablespoon olive oil.

How to prepare and use:

Mix all the ingredients until a thick paste is obtained. Then soak feet in warm water for 20 minutes and gently massage with this paste. Remove the excess or wash your feet and apply a moisturizer.
